Alec Baldwin avoids arrest after clashing with photographer at East Hampton playground
ALEC Baldwin has narrowly avoided arrest after clashing with a photographer he caught taking photos of his wife and children at an East Hampton playground at the weekend.
The scuffle broke out after freelance photographer Matt Agudo started taking photos of Baldwin, his wife Hilaria and one-year-old daughter Carmen, when the actor grabbed his shirt and tried to put him in a headlock, according to the New York Post.
When police arrived, Agudo declined to press charges and instead accepted a handshake and apology from the actor.
Augudo told The New York Post that he made the decision not to press charges because Baldwin is still under court supervision following his May arrest for riding his bicycle the wrong way up a Manhattan street.
In that case, Baldwin got a conditional discharge that runs through January along with a warning from the judge to “be a good boy from now on”.
“I didn’t want him to go to jail and be away from his daughter,” Mr Agudo said.
“I know he loves her a lot.”

Joan Rivers remains on life support as family considers legal action over botched throat procedure

COMEDIAN Joan Rivers is reportedly being brought out of her medically-induced coma while her family considers taking legal action over the botched procedure that caused her collapse.

Doctors began lifting the 81-year-old comedian and television personality from her medically-induced coma on Sunday as her only child, Melissa Rivers, waited to see how the legendary comic will respond, according to the Daily News.

“The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday,” a source close to the family said.

“There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair.”

Rivers was rushed to hospital after she stopped breathing during throat surgery at a clinic in New York on Thursday.

The family is now reportedly considering legal action against the botched procedure which caused her collapse.

“Shock and upset is turning to anger, and they are looking for someone to blame,” the source said, hinting at action against the clinic where Rivers had a routine throat procedure on Thursday.

“The night before, she was performing and now she is on life support,” the source added. “An 81-year-old should not have that procedure as an outpatient. Very ill advised.”

The family are maintaining a bedside vigil and have thanked fans for their messages of support.

“All of a sudden I was just talking to some girls and I just felt BAM! Something against my head,” he said.

Ryan Corr quits Sydney Theatre Company production, citing leading film role ahead of court appearance for drug possession
LOVE Child star Ryan Corr has withdrawn from the Sydney Theatre Company production of Cyrano de Bergerac.
The 25-year-old actor was arrested on May 27 after allegedly being found by police in Sydney in possession of a freezer bag containing heroin. He will appear in court next week.
The Sydney Theatre Company yesterday announced Chris Ryan would replace Corr in the company’s production of Cyrano, to be directed by Andrew Upton.
The STC said it had accepted the actor’s request to be released from the forthcoming production, stating it was due to him being cast in a leading role in a major Australian feature film and soon to commence production.
“We’ve accepted Ryan’s request to withdraw from Cyrano de Bergerac to enable him to take on a leading role in a film,” STC artistic director Upton said in a statement.
“This will be a great opportunity for him and we understand his desire to be part of an important new Australian film at this time in his career. We very much hope to see him on an STC stage again soon.”

Upton said that he was thrilled Ryan, who has appeared in King Kong and Les Miserables, would replace him.
“We’ve loved working with Chris in Gross und Klein (Big and Small) in Sydney and throughout Europe, as well as in Baal and Concussion, and he is currently in rehearsal for STC’s Children of the Sun (opening 12 September),” Upton said.
The STC said the producers of the actor’s latest project had asked them not to name the film.
Fairfax understands the name of the film is Holding the Man, about a long-time romance between playwright Timothy Conigrave and footballer John Caleo.
Corr has been nominated for two Logies and won the 2011 Australian in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship.
He is set to star alongside Russell Crowe in the upcoming film The Water Diviner and was a regular character in local drama series Packed to the Rafters and Underbelly: The Golden Mile.

She and her husband Stuart Webb welcomed the arrival of their new baby daughter in Sydney on Sunday.

“We welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world last night,” Ritchie said at the time.

“She is doing very well, as is mum. We happen to think she is perfect and couldn’t be more delighted.”

The name is a variant of May, which comes from the name of the month of May. This in turn comes from ‘Maia’, the name of a Roman goddess, according to TV Week.

The name was not among a list of possible baby names she recently posted on Instagram, where she said she had received suggested names for both sexes.

For a girl, she listed Molly, Lilly, Matilda, Madeline and Georgina. And for a boy, she had William, Hugo, Harry, Josh and Lucas.
