He said the “fairest” system to book a seat at the Melbourne eatery is by ballot.

“After that we will hand it over to an independent third party who will randomly select the reservations,” Heston told the Herald Sun.

Diners will be contacted if they do – or don’t– get a booking at the restaurant. Those who miss out will be offered a priority reservation or a spot on a waitlist. “We understand people’s circumstances change,” Heston said. “There will be an opportunity to get a table.”

He will also bring elements of the interior and incorporate it into the dining space.

The Fat Duck will be located on the old Breezes restaurant site at Crown.

It will be branded as the Fat Duck for six months.

After that, the restaurant will be rebranded Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.

Former Home and Away star Lincoln Younes opens up about life after Summer Bay

FORMER Home and Away star Lincoln Younes, whose character Casey Braxton died earlier this week, has opened up about life after Summer Bay.

The 22-year-old actor says he enjoyed his time on the soap, but admits it was time for him to say goodbye.

Younes has been a part of the show since February 2011. He is the second of three Braxton brothers to exit the show following the departure of Heath Braxton played by Dan Ewing.

He concedes that the ‘River Boys’ dynamic has now changed, but believes his departure will bring new and exciting storylines for the remaining brothers.

“It certainly feels like we are nearing the end of an era. But, if anything, I think it creates a new dynamic between the brothers which will be interesting to watch.”

Younes described his final day on set as “surreal” and “amazing” and revealed that it will be a memory that will stay with him forever.

“The words said to me on that day and the feeling of seeing all of my loved ones around me celebrating will be a fond memory I will keep forever,” he told TV Week.

Younes was killed off earlier this week in a dramatic murder plot. The much-loved ‘River Boy’ took a bullet trying to save his half-brother Josh, who had been kidnapped by Jake Pirovic.

Jimmy Fallon and Barbra Streisand sing medley of hits in late night TV spectacular

AFTER more than 50 years away from the spotlight, singer Barbra Streisand has made her much anticipated return to the American late night talk show circuit.

Appearing on The Tonight Show to promote her new duets album Partners, the 72-year-old singer joined forces with host Jimmy Fallon to perform an impressive medley of hits including tracks from Elvis Presley, Michael Buble and Blake Shelton.

Streisand chatted about reinterpreting standards on her new album with guests such as Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, and – thanks to some studio magic – Elvis Presley.

She also touched on her appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and how stage fright kept her from performing music for more than 27 years.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendez welcome a baby daughter

News that the Urban Legends star was expecting their first child broke in July when she was approximately seven months pregnant.

Mendez, 40, previously laughed off baby speculation in February when quizzed about it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

“It’s so ridiculous,” she said at the time.“It all started because I didn’t want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there’s a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out.”

The couple have kept an extremely low profile in recent months, but an insider recently revealed that Gosling, 33, was eager to make things as easy as possible for his long-term girlfriend, as they prepared for their new arrival.

The source said: “Ryan goes out and gets the groceries. (Eva’s) been wanting pasta, and he’s cooking her meals. Ryan has already stepped into the role of caring father-to-be.”

The pair, who have been dating since 2011, managed to keep the pregnancy a secret for a long time by only telling a few close friends and family members.

"(Eva) just hasn’t ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to. And Ryan is certainly private and always has been," a source said.

Mark Vincent to make musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing
MARK Vincent is set to make his musical theatre debut in Dirty Dancing, with the singer landing the role of Billy in the upcoming Australian production.
The 21-year-old singer, who has released six albums and sold more than 500,000 albums since winning Australia’s Got Talent in 2009, says it is a deliberate move away from his operatic persona.
“I want to show the Australian public my versatility,” Vincent told Sydney Confidential. “He’s groovy, he’s not Pavarotti, that’s the difference,” he said of his character Billy, who is Johnny Castle’s cousin in Dirty Dancing.
“When I found out about this opportunity for Dirty Dancing, I wanted to know everything about it, so I watched it about 10 times,” Vincent said. “I watched Patrick Swayze and the way he was — and not just the singing in the show but their body language, so when I auditioned for the show I could have those skills.”
The leading roles of Johnny Castle and Baby will be announced in the coming weeks.
Producer John Frost says he can’t wait for audiences to hear Vincent sing those classic Dirty Dancing songs ‘In the Still of the Night’ and ‘The Time of My Life’.
“He (Vincent) has already achieved so much in such a short time. The whole creative team was so impressed with Mark’s audition, and we look forward to seeing him develop into a leading man on the musical theatre stage,” he said in a statement.
Dirty Dancing is based on the 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray and opens in Sydney on November 28. Tickets at Ticketmaster.
