They’re here: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby Prince George arrive in Australia
THE sun was beaming, the crowds massive, and the atmosphere electric - it was a reception fit for royalty as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby Prince George arrived in Australia.
The royals touched down at Sydney Airport this afternoon ready to embark on their 10-day Australian adventure.
Every inch the glamorous Duchess, Kate wore a lemon-yellow dress by Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic, which she is reported to have chosen “to reflect the Australian sunshine”.
William opted for a traditional black suit, light blue shirt and maroon tie, while baby Prince George was joyous in a simple shirt and shorts combo (This writer won’t pretend to have a glowing fashion sense).

The royals were greeted at Sydney Airport by Australia’s new Governer-General Sir Peter Cosgrove, New South Wales Governor Marie Bashir and Prime Minister Tony Abbott. After a brief welcome, the family were whisked away to a private reception at the Sydney Opera House.
The couple were transported by police vessel across Sydney Harbour to their residency while in Australia at Admiralty House.
The couple and their young son have a busy itinerary during their Aussie jaunt: tomorrow they travel to the Blue Mountains, and in the coming days they’ll visit Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Uluru. They won’t be visiting Melbourne, with Victorians disappointed they won’t get to catch a glimpse of baby George during this Australian visit.

Craig Booby wins The Biggest Loser Australia
CRAIG Booby has won The Biggest Loser: Challenge Australia 2014, having lost a whopping 79.8 kilograms.
The Ararat sales manager finished with a final weight of 103.6 kilograms, down from his starting weight of 183.4 kilograms.
He dropped a staggering 43.51% of his body weight to clench the title in the Channel Ten weight-loss series.
He defeated finalists Toni Stockwell and Katrina Pianta, and runner-up Sharon Bassett who lost 36.61% of her body weight.
“It’s a very surreal feeling,” he said.
“When I first auditioned for The Biggest Loser: Challenge Australia I didn’t think about making the finale. I just knew I had one chance to make the most of this opportunity and win or lose I was going to give 100% to be able to hold my head high and have no regrets. Winning is an amazing reward for the hard work I have put in and I have also proved my doubters wrong.
“The Biggest Loser has taught me that if you want something badly enough and are willing to put in the work, push through the pain and get your priorities right, dreams really can become reality.”
Coach Steve ‘Commando’ Willis said: “He was the very definition of hard work and from the moment he entered The Biggest Loser house, he gave it his all. I constantly encouraged him to strive for more and dig deeper to be the best possible version of himself — and he delivered.”
Booby wins $75,000 cash for his efforts.
The Ararat community - which was this year a feature of the series - lost a total of 40,000 kilograms, well ahead of the town’s 26,000 kilogram target.
Thanks to the efforts of their Ararat town champions - the contestants in The Biggest Loser house - a total of $145,000 has been raised, which will help fund a healthy living legacy for their home town.
Despite this accomplishment, Channel Ten is, however, yet to commit to another series of The Biggest Loser, which has struggled against My Kitchen Rules and The Block: Fans v Faves in recent months.
“An announcement regarding the next season of The Biggest Loser will be made later in the year,” a Ten spokesperson told News Ltd.

Dannii Minogue puts an end to those ridiculous pregnancy rumours
DANNII Minogue has quashed suggestions she is pregnant with her second child.
The X Factor judge posted a photo (pictured) on her Twitter account overnight, wearing a tight white dress, from backstage while filming the Channel Seven talent show.
The photo shows the 42-year-old’s petite frame and flat tummy, and clearly no sign of a looming baby bump.
The caption reads: “Mums out on the prowl #TeamMinogue.”

The rumour mill has been in overdrive over whether the singer might be expecting a child with Lovebugs singer and producer Adrian Newman.
Minogue added fuel to the pregnancy fire when she stepped out in Melbourne this week wearing a baggy black top with a satchel strap covering her stomach.
She already has one child, Ethan, 3, with The Daily Edition co-host and Myer model Kris Smith.
Minogue and Newman have been dating since January 2014 where they attended the Australian Open men’s singles tennis final in Melbourne.
She is currently filming X Factor auditions in Sydney with fellow judges Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and RedFoo.
